Frattali, Northcraft lead Mater Dei past JSerra, 6-2

Brian Frattali slugged a three-run home run in the third inning to send No. 3 Mater Dei on its way to a 6-2 victory over No. 10 JSerra in a Trinity League baseball game Tuesday at JSerra High.

Aaron Northcraft pitched five innings with four strikeouts and allowed four hits to earn the victory for the Monarchs (21-6, 11-4).

Konnor Armijo went 3 for 4 with a double.

Brett Dahlson went 2 for 3 and knocked in both runs for the Lions (17-10, 8-7).

Also in the Trinity League:

Servite 7, Santa Margarita 3: Spencer Chavez went 4 for 4 with a double and two RBIs, and Chris Amezquita added two RBIs as the host Friars beat the Eagles.

Dave Peterson had a two-run homer in the fifth inning for Servite. Josh White pitched three innings for his seventh victory of the season.

Blake Leyva and Brandon Campbell each had an RBI for the Eagles.

In the Orange Coast League:

Laguna Beach 8, Estancia 0: Julian Deline knocked in two runs, and Zach Nuno had three RBIs and threw a five-hit shutout as the Breakers (14-15, 7-5) cruised past the visiting Eagles.
