Corona del Mar softball coach Carly Smith resigned from her post last week, CdM Athletic Director Don Grable has announced.

Smith coached the Sea Kings for the past three years and compiled an overall record of 16-55 in that span. She steps down as a walk-on coach to pursue a full-time teaching position.

“Carly has shown passion, enthusiasm, and a deep knowledge of the game in constantly striving to improve our softball program,” Grable said of Smith in a statement.

The Sea Kings have not won a Pacific Coast League game since 2008.

The school will begin accepting applications for a new head coach immediately.
