Villa Park kicker/punter Jason Sanders signed today with New Mexico, Villa Park athletic director Tom Fox announced today.
Sanders averaged 45 yards a punt with a long of 74 yards in 2013. He made three field goals of 50 yards or more and 38 of his 57 kickoffs were touchbacks.
Fox said at the conclusion of Wednesday’s first day of the signing period for football players that New Mexico found it had a scholarship available and made the full-ride to Sanders who accepted it.
