The top-ranked Huntington Beach boys volleyball tied the all-time national record for consecutive victories Thursday with a 25-16, 25-23, 22-25, 25-21 home victory over Saddleback Valley Christian.
The Oilers have now won 112 consecutive matches, tying the record set by Salem High of New Hampshire (2004-09).
The Oilers can break the record Tuesday when they visit Servite for a nonleague match.
Sean Morrissey led the Oilers with 21 kills in the match against SVC.
