Mater Dei products Bret Bonanni, McQuin Baron and Anthony Daboub helped the U.S. men’s water polo team defeat Brazil, 11-7, to capture the recent FINA Intercontinental Tournament in China.
In the final, Baron made nine saves while John Mann (Corona del Mar) and Josh Samuels (Villa Park) each scored twice and Bonanni added one.
Baron was The Register’s 20013 boys water polo player of the year.
