Orange Lutheran first-team All-County all-purpose player Stanley Berryhill has committed to Arizona State as a preferred walk-on wide receiver, the senior confirmed.

Berryhill, who transferred to Orange Lutheran from Arizona, delivered a strong season in 2016. He had 63 receptions for nearly 1,000 yards and nine TDs. He also was an outstanding returner.

At Arizona State, he will join Capistrano Valley quarterback Kevin Brown as a preferred walk-on.

“They have three wide receiver spots open and I know I can  make a big impact and earn a scholarship if I work hard,” Berryhill said in a direct message via Twitter. “And (the school) is from my own state so I’m close to my home town.”

Brown, a life-long fan of the Sun Devils, committed to Arizona State as preferred walk-on in late January.

“When they gave me an opportunity to play for them it was just something that I couldn’t pass up,” Brown said.
