Pitchers Joe Record and Seve Romo signed their letters of intent today. Record signed with UC Santa Barbara. Romo signed with University of San Diego.

Record was 1-2 last year with a 1.65 ERA in 17 innings. The highlight of his 2012 season came in the championship game of the National Classic, when Record took a no-hitter into the seventh and final inning of El Dorado's 4-2 victory over El Toro. It was Record's first start of the season.

Romo was 0-3 with a 2.80 ERA in 20 innings.

Many, if not most, baseball players get much of their recruiting and scouting attention during their non-high school baseball activity -- travel teams, fall ball and the like. Same with basketball recruiting, because of the way the NCAA has fashioned its recruiting calendars.
