Boys basketball: Nick Pallas transfers to JSerra

Nick Pallas, a 6-foot-7 sophomore forward, has transferred to JSerra from Tesoro. The CIF-Southern Section website's transfer approvals tool showed that Pallas' transfer was approved on Aug. 23.

OCVarsity.com reported in July that Pallas' family had visited JSerra.

"He's not transferring," Tesoro coach Steve Garrett told us. But Pallas has made the move.

Pallas averaged 12 points a game this past season and was named to the All-South Coast second team. At Tesoro, he looked like the school's best boys basketball prospect since Chris Manresa graduated in 2009. Manresa was an All-State forward at Tesoro, and now is at University of San Diego where he led the Toreros in rebounding and field-goal percentage this past season as a junior.
