Esperanza senior-to-be lineman Carl Hulick (6-3, 290) has committed to SMU, Aztecs football coach Greg Kemp said in an e-mail Thursday night.

Hulick made an unofficial visit to the Conference USA school over the weekend.

Recruited as an offensive guard or center, Hulick also had offers from Nevada, Army and Stony Brook.

He also plays defense for Esperanza.
