Mater Dei quarterback JT Daniels set another record Friday in a 63-30 victory against Vista Murrieta in the second round of the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs.

The sophomore passed for 407 yards to raise his season total to 4,272 yards, which breaks the Orange County single-season record of 4,219 by Conner Manning of El Toro during his O.C. player of the year of 2011.

Daniels also set the record in two fewer games than Manning, who estblished the standard as a junior. Mater Dei is 12-0 while Manning’s 2011 season ended in a loss in the CIF finals against Tustin.

Daniels also tossed five TDs on Friday, increasing his single-season O.C. record total to 63.
