Foothill All-County water polo attacker Mike Miller, who helped the Knights capture back-to-back CIF Division 2 titles, has committed to Air Force, the senior reports.

Miller helped form Foothill’s Big 3 with Bobby Lee and Chas Hornecker this past fall and netted the winning goal in double sudden-death overtime to beat Dana Hills in the Division 2 final.

“It has been my dream to attend the Academy, play water polo and ultimately defend our country’s freedom,” Miller said in an e-mail.

“Like many others who have stayed focused, played hard and excelled academically, I have water polo to thank for opening doors to my future.”

Miller netted 70 goals and added 63 steals last season.

He will join a growing cast of former county players now at Air Force. The Falcons could have close to 10 county players next season, including the trio of Robby Stiefel (San Clemente), Riley Thomas (Laguna Beach) and Justin Harrison (Edison).
