Orange Lutheran All-County safety Brandon McKinney (6-0, 180) has committed to Washington, the senior-to-be announced on Twitter on Saturday.

McKinney is a hard-hitting and versatile player for the Lancers, and a major-get for the Huskies. He led the Lancers last season with 114 total tackles and added 927 all-purpose yards on offense.

“Very happy for him,” Orange Luthearn coach Chuck Petersen said. “I hold Coach (Chris) Petersen in the highest regard as a coach and a person. Brandon will leave UW a better man.”

McKinney had narrowed his decision to Washington, USC and Colorado, Chuck Petersen said.

Washington’s class of 2017 commit list already included Servite cornerback Keith Taylor.
