Mater Dei wide receiver AJ Collins (6-5, 195) is back from injury, and college recruiters have noticed.
The senior-to-be has picked up his first scholarship offer courtesy of North Texas of Conference USA, he announced on Twitter.
Collins suffered a season-ending ankle injury last fall against St. John Bosco but has shown steady progress this summer in returning to form. He has used his size and hands to become a main target.
“I feel a lot better,” Collins said after the Air Strike tournament at Dana Hills in late May. “I’ve worked countless times at school with coaches trying to get back to the way I was and I feel like it’s starting to pay off.”
Collins is part of a loaded receiving corp at Mater Dei that includes C.J. Parks and the St. Brown brothers among others.
