Football: Mission Viejo's Madden probable for All-American game

Mission Viejo linebacker Tre Madden suffered a second-degree shoulder separation in last week's Pac-5 Division football final but is probable to play in the U.S. All-American Bowl on Jan. 8 in San Antonio, Texas.

"He will probably play," Mission Viejo football coach Bob Johnson said of the USC commit.

Johnson will coach the West team, which includes Madden, in the nationally televised game.

Mater Dei wide out and USC commit Victor Blackwell also will play for Johnson and the West.

Johnson's son, Rob, will serve as the West's offensive coordinator. Rob shares play calling duties with his brother, Bret, at Mission Viejo.

Madden was slowed earlier in the season with a foot injury, which caused him to miss four games.
