The Orange County baseball top 10 is from a polling of five media members.
Here is how I voted this morning.
1. JSerra (10-2 overall, 3-0 league) Lions finished fifth in the Boras Classic’s Southern California bracket.
2. Huntington Beach (9-2, 5-0) Oilers beat Edison, Los Alamitos. Huge wins in the deep Sunset League. Los Al, by the way, is 0-5 in league.
3. San Clemente (15-3, 2-0) Tritons’ 10-game winning streak is longest in county baseball.
4. Fountain Valley (8-4, 2-1) Barons beat Marina, Edison last week.
5. Trabuco Hills (12-2, 2-0) Mustangs have two big ones this week — home against Capo Valley on Wednesday, at Mission Viejo on Friday.
6. Dana Hills (13-4, 3-0) Dana is home against San Clemente on Wednesday.
7. Aliso Niguel (8-7, 0-1) Aliso has played in two great tournaments, the National High School Invitational and the Boras Classic. So don’t downplay that 8-7 record.
8. Edison (11-5, 3-2) Chargers lost two tough ones in league, to top-10 teams — Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley.
9. Esperanza (8-2, 3-2) Aztecs have two games this week against Century League-leading Foothill.
10. Tesoro (13-3, 1-1) Titans lost to Pacifica in Lions tournament, but that is a good Pacifica team.
