Outlook: Laguna Beach is among the top teams in the county, and it would be a major shocker if anyone but the Breakers finish first. Estancia took a hit with the departure of their top singles player from a year ago. Repeating their second place finish from last season is going to be harder without her. It opens the door for the other teams in the league to make a playoff push. Calvary Chapel is one who is likely to pounce on the opportunity.

2008 singles champion: Alex Tachovsky (Laguna Hills)

Factoid: Tachovsky isn't playing for Laguna Beach in what would be her junior season. The league champion is spending this year training in Florida.

Prediction (with last year's playoff result):

1. Laguna Beach (lost to Dana Hills quarterfinals)

2. Calvary Chapel (lost to Corona del Mar first round)

3. Estancia (lost to San Clemente first round)

4. Costa Mesa (n/a)

5. Godinez (n/a)
