Mike Hutnick has been named new boys lacrosse coach at San Clemente, athletic director Jon Hamro said in a release on Tuesday.
Hutnick, a former head coach at JSerra, replaces Glen Miles, who has taken over the head coaching job at St. Margaret's.
JSerra won a share of the Trinity League title under Hutnick in 2009. Hutnick, who most recently has been an assistant at JSerra, played lacrosse at Southern New Hampshire University.
“I am thrilled that we were able to attract such a high caliber lacrosse coach in Mike Hutnick," Hamro said. "Mike takes over a Triton boys' lacrosse program that has been very successful and he fully understands what it will take to not only continue that success, but also elevate it as well. Mike understands that success on the lacrosse field is built upon high academic expectations and character building and that hard work, commitment, dedication, and integrity are the cornerstones."
