Standout sprint-freestyler Tianna Jorgenson of Crean Lutheran’s defending CIF Division 2 girls swim team has committed to race and serve as an officer for Air Force, the senior reports.
“I come from a military family so I’ve always had the idea of wanting to serve,” she wrote in e-mail. “I can’t wait to officially be part of the Falcon family when Cadet training starts in June 2016!”
Jorgenson finished fifth in the 50-yard free (24.00) and tied for fourth in the 100 free (52.07) at last season’s CIF Division 2 finals. She blazed faster at the state meet, clocking a 23.62 to place 10th in the 50 free.
Jorgenson also helped Crean Lutheran set the national private school record in the 400 free relay at the state meet with a 3:20.03. One of her teammates from the relay, Emily Eastin, has committed to Michigan.
