It was an amazing collection of athletes that gathered Tuesday night for the annual Register and OCVarsity.com awards banquet.

The event, held at the Marconi Automotive Museum in Tustin, brought together the stars who shined the brightest in the county in 2007-08 by winning the top honor in their sport. The top coaches were also honored.

The night's highlight was the announcement of the Register's Athletes of the Year: Orange Lutheran's Blake Ayles (top boys athlete), Woodbridge's Christine Babcock (top girls athlete) and St. Margaret's Hunter Steffien (top small schools athlete).

Volleyball legend Karch Kiraly was the guest speaker and helped hand out the awards.

To see all of the winners and the group shots, check out the photo slide show.
