CIF-SS GIRLS WATER POLO CHAMPIONSHIPS

Saturday's scores (& Comments by Dan Albano)

DIVISION I
Newport Harbor 6, Corona del Mar 5 OT (Best match I've seen this season. Lady Tars certainly earned it.)

DIVISION II
Dos Pueblos 9, Santa Barbara 2 (Santa Barbara falls by seven at home? Was the real final DP-Laguna?)

DIVISION III
Riverside Poly 6, Ayala 4 (Poly won't be an easy first-round opponent for someone at Masters.)

DIVISION IV
Arroyo Grande 8, Harvard-Westake 7 (Rebecca Smith wins it with 1:39 left on her only shot of the game.)

DIVISION V
Murrieta Valley 5, Santiago/Corona 4 (Murrieta led 4-0 in the second and held on against fourth-year program Santiago.)

DIVISION VI
Sonora 11, La Habra 10 (A few colleges should be second-guessing themselves on Olguin.)

All-Championships team
Kate Baldoni, Corona del Mar, GK
Nina McCall, Newport Harbor
Kiley Neushul, Dos Pueblos
Sara Olguin, Sonora
Kristie Romero, La Habra
Tiera Schroeder, Dos Pueblos
Heather Van Hiel, Corona del Mar

From the editor: Many of you have expressed concerns about some of the harsh anonymous comments from readers. To remedy that, we are introducing new features. You can create your own blog, publish your news and share your photos with the community. Once you fill out a simple form and leave a verifiable e-mail address, you can set up your profile page. It will display all of your contributions and allow you to track issues and easily connect with others.

We want our site to be a place where people discuss and debate ideas that foster stronger communities. We built this for you. Please take care of it. Tolerate broad thinking, but take action against obscene or hateful material. Make it a credible and safe place worth preserving and sharing.
