Adam Maya chats with Damian Calhoun about the El Dorado vs. South Hills game.

AM: Maybe here’s where we find out if El Dorado belongs in this division. It shouldn’t be battering semifinal opponents by halftime. I’d like to see El Do in the Pac-5.

DC: This should be a great test for the Golden Hawks. South Hills is 10-2, and its only losses are to Trabuco Hills and La Habra, the people’s champions.

AM: I know South Hills has been a different team since losing to the people’s champs. QB Cameron Deen took over in the third game and hasn’t lost.

DC: The results don’t lie, but the Golden Hawks will have to focus their attention on Dorian Wells: 1,421 yards, 19 touchdowns. Containing him will be the key.

AM: They’ve allowed one rusher to break 100 yards. I’d be surprised if it happened again.

AM: And as good as South Hills has been on offense, it’s given up double figures in each of the past five games and in six of seven.

DC: Including 33 to La Mirada. Defense is the name of the game for El Dorado. El Modena was the only to team to score at least 20 points all year.

AM: Devin Deleon leads a consistent running game, Kane Wilson runs the offense well, and that defensive line is nasty. I don’t see this team losing.

DC: You’re right. Now if we can get this team into the Pac-5.
