I'm a La Habra football fan and I have to say Cypress deserved that title. Coming from being low ranked in the brackett to proving all odds. It's a true underdog story. You have all played with heart and that ultimately lead you to your victory. Great game. Great season.

I give props to pacifica for stopping the two point conversion on western. If western would of kicked those extra points instead of going for two you might see western playing kennedy in the semi finals. Who knows. Becuase western didnt show up to play that day is the reason they lost. Western had alot of juniors and wouldnt be surprised if western meets Pacifica in the finals next year. Good luck to yall. Once again MouthyMyopicMonarchBoy hasn't bothered to do his homework, last year's state champion was Canyon High School, out of you guessed it, the NORTHERN DIVISION, they actually beat De La Salle High School of Concord something MD hasn't been able to do in quite some time now. However, the bottomline here is that we will never really know which program is the BEST until a state playoff system is adopted nuff said!

This is my 1st time reading these comments about refs and how ahs have westerns plays. So how did ahs lose to them? To me western just beat them! But going back to this unsportsman like conduct. I believe refs should be accountable for their mistakes. For example, after 5 mistakes they should not be eligible to ref playoff games and after 10 they should have to go back to ref school or quit! And I'm talking all sports especially after last nites basketball game, where a player grabbed one players arm right in front of the ref and he did not call the foul.

I live and work in the OC now but actually grew up in the Santa Clarita Valley and played for Hart High School home of eight Southern Section CIF football championships and the only school in the entire history of the Southern Section to to win four in a row. Still think you could take my team 70-10? Oh and since you're all about what's happening now, Hart's in the hunt for another CIF championship this year see Northern Division unlike MD. No disagreement here. The Monarchs have a good team each and every year. Thats why they were ranked number 5 in the nation for most of the season i think. But the fact is that they are out of the playoffs. even with their lose I still think they are the second best team in Orange County. With that said give credit where credit is due. making it to the semifinals is a great accomplishment for any team, no matter wat division. And being CIF champs is the ultimate goal no matter what division.

Valienca did beat Orange Luthern. The last year Orange Luthern was in the Empire League. I think I was 2005-2006 season. Tri-Champs in empire leauge, Kennedy, Valienca, Orange Luthern, Orange Luthern actually Lost in the first round that year to Tustin. NewPort Harbor beat Valienca for the CIF title.

It is really sad that some people have to write so much garbage. Coach Fenton has really brought alot to the Cypress program. Cypress won the game because they played as a team. Anaheim played well also, but only one team can win. Cypress is not all white and we are not snobs. Alot of the comments made are not the Cypress Football Players. We had our share of bad years, winning 1 game the whole season. Stop putting down the program, we have alot of talent and support for our team. who? stop your crying. all games get some bad calls. Pacifica lost to anaheim last year on a bad pi call thats HS football. Being on the sidelines for over 8 yrs HS and 4 yrs JC I've never seen anyone whine cry and complain like the western sidelines did including all the extra people that were there instead of being in the stands where they belonged. Maybe you should become a CIF official then all can see how good a game you can call. That way you can help all HS footballers games you do be mistake free. All the talk about fair play the ref's are there to keep it clean and its always the loser that does not get the fair shake with the ref's, I you win its always refing if you loose its always a cheap shot non of these teams got to the semis or the finals because they play a bad game All I see is the empire league will have have a remach next weak Good luck to All.

Hey TroDad,are you kidding me? It was Uni's choice to go for it on 4th down from your own 1 yard line with more than 2 minutes left in the game. I saw a cleanly fought game with very few penalty flags thrown. You've got the classy thing backwards. The classy comment should of said something like a very good undefeated University team lost to a solid kennedy football team in the quarter finals of the CIF playoffs. University had a great year, and kennedy moves on to the semi's. Good luck to University next year and good luck to Kennedy next week.

to TroDad i know what you mean. i think it was number 9 or 19 that was getting clipped all night. he would wave at the ref and ref would just shrug his shoulders. I hope Pacifica beats the day lights out of Kennedy.

what I can say about between western and pacifica is that western was greedy with their extra ponts attempts after TDs. That's how they always have been. They liked to risk it and they now lost to Pacifica. Also all they care about is run to end of the field, they don't throw. I don't call that a smart football. Western will never win CIF unless they change some stuff. My vote goes to Pacifica now.
