Donte Harrington had changed his mind once.

He was not about to change it again.

Harrington, an All-Orange County offensive lineman at San Clemente, signed his letter of intent with Boise State on Wednesday. He had been committed to Army, but switched to Boise State after a visit there two weeks ago.

“No second thoughts,” Harrington said after signing his letter of intent with Boise State. “For some guys I know it really did come down to the wire for them and they might have some buyers’ remorse.”His father, Don Harrington, said he and wife Christine left the decision to Donte.

“Initially, we had a lot of input,” Don Harrington said. “But it finally came down to where his heart is. We said we would support his decision, whatever it would be, from Day 1.”

San Clemente had its signing day event outside of the campus library in bright sunshine on a pleasant afternoon.

The conditions were a bit different when Harrington, 6-3 and 285 pounds, made his recruiting visit to Boise State two weekends ago.

“It was cold and rainy,” Harrington said. “They get a pretty good amount of snow there, too. It’s not going to be as nice as here, but it’s still going to be nice.”
