Former University golf coach Michael Bova is working to put together a high school golf tournament to be held in June and played at Oak Creek Golf Club. It will be open to boys and girls from Orange, Los Angeles and San Diego counties.
The idea is not to attract AJGA players, who will be gearing up for summer tournaments, but to give the Nos. 3-6 varsity players a chance to get some tournament experience.
Vendor booths and raffles will be a part of the tournament as well, much like when he oragnized the Orange County Junior Championships at Oak Creek several years.
