Woodbridge swimmer Daniela Georges has raced the 50- and 100-yard freestyles the past two weeks for team strategic reasons in the Pacific Coast League but she plans to swim one of her more intriguing events next week.

The rising junior out of the Aquazot club said after Wednesday’s meet against Corona del Mar that she plans to race the 500 free next week at Northwood.

Georges blazed a lifetime-best 4:39.82 earlier this spring in a club meet for Aquazot. The time was 2 1/2 seconds off Janet Evans’ legendary county record for El Dorado 1988.

Georges’ event selection will be fun to watch at league finals and CIF next month. She’s strong in the 200 and 500 freestyle but her individual medley and backstroke also are events on the rise. She busted through 2-minutes in the 200 IM at the Texas sectional and touched in 54-low in the 100 backstroke.
