The U.S. women’s water polo team (5-0) finished group play at the Olympic Qualification Tournament with a 25-1 victory against South Africa in Netherlands and will play France in the quarterfinals Saturday for a berth to the Rio Games.
Maddie Musselman of Newport Beach scored four goals while Newport Harbor graduate Kaleigh Gilchrist added three for Team USA, the reigning Olympic champion.
France (2-3) defeated Germany, 9-5, for its second victory.
The winners of the four quarterfinal matches will advance to Rio. Here’s the schedule:
