Vince Brown was reinstated as Foothill’s baseball coach Monday.

Brown, the Register’s Orange County baseball coach of the year in 2014, was asked by the school’s administration Thursday to resign and he complied, according to an email he sent last week to families in the school’s baseball program. The reasons for the request were not disclosed.

On Monday night, Brown announced via social media that Foothill principal Michael Williams had reinstated him. Williams confirmed the reinstatement.

Brown posted a statement on Twitter and Facebook on Monday night which said: “Today, Dr. Williams and I had the opportunity to meet and discuss the future of Foothill Baseball. This has been a true learning experience for all of us. Dr. Williams and I both want the very best for all members of the our (sic) baseball program. As of today, he has declined the acceptance of my resignation made last Thursday and I’ll be returning to the field this week as Head Varsity Baseball (coach). I’m very blessed to the be the Head Coach of Foothill Baseball!

Brown ended a 10-year break from high school coaching to take over Foothill’s program in 2014. He previously was Foothill’s coach from 1996-2003. Brown also has coached at Tustin and Woodbridge.
