Edison received 31 applicants for its varsity football head coaching position. Dave White, Orange County football coach of the year for 2016, held that job for the past 31 years.
Edison athletic director said via email that the school plans to announce its selection for football head coach with a week.
As stated here, as gently as we could at the time in November, Canyon coach Mike Ogas and Santa Margarita assistant coach Jeff Grady, both Edison alums, could be in the mix. (An athletic director at another O.C. school asked me weeks ago and the answer is: Yes, Grady does have the prerequisite teaching credential.)
White has stepped aside to creat time to watch son Garrett play football at Yale.
