Notes from the football recruiting front:

* Servite junior offensive lineman Clayton Johnston (6-6, 275) has been offered by Arizona State, Friars coach A.J. Gass reports.

* Buena Park junior wide receiver/defensive back Jaylinn Hawkins (6-1, 181) has been offered by Fresno State while Coyotes junior offensive lineman Kevin Dixon (6-6, 259) has been offered by Utah and Fresno State, Buena Park football coach Anthony White said.

* Orange Lutheran All-County junior defensive end Keisean Lucier-South (6-6, 220) has been offered by Florida. He was recently named the DL MVP at the Nike camp at Redondo Beach, earning an invite to Nike’s The Opening in July in Oregon, his father, Sean, reports.

* Huntington Beach wide receiver Charlie Shuffler (6-0, 170), a transfer from Pacifica, has been invited to junior days at Humboldt State, Southern Arkansas and University of Mary. he reports. The junior also has made an unofficial recruiting trip to San Diego State. 

* Dana Hills quarterback and Sea View League offensive MVP Mac Vail (6-0, 180) has committed to Division III Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. The Spartans are contenders from the University Athletic Association and feature one of the top medical schools, Dolphins football coach Todd Rusinkovich announced.
