Sunset League members Los Alamitos and Fountain Valley each have at least one transfer to watch this fall in football.

Junior defensive tackle Matthew Faupusa (6-3, 315) and sophomore wide receiver Kenui Huey (6-1, 160) have tranferred to Los Alamitos from St. John Bosco and Cypress, respectively, Griffins football coach Ray Fenton said.

Fenton said Faupusa was a backup last season for the Braves at offensive guard and will observe the CIF-SS sitout period for the first five games.

“He’s a Pac-12 guy,” Fenton said of Faupusa.

Fenton said Huey could start at wide receiver. “He’s shown up in a big way,” the coach said.

Mission Viejo junior running back Ben Vallier has transferred to Fountain Valley, Barons coach Jimmy Nolan said. Vallier rushed for 332 yards last season for the state and CIF champion Diablos. He joins a backfield that includes George Sykes and Angel Hernandez.
