Two-time All-County football player Casey Eugenio (5-9, 180) — arguably the most under-rated recruit in Orange County’s class of 2014 — has accepted a preferred walk-on to Oregon, his father, David, reports.
Eugenio, a running back/defensive back, was a first-team All-County pick as an all-purpose player this past season. He rushed for more than 1,000 yards and also had four interceptions.
As a junior, he was a first-team All-County pick as a defensive back.
In other recruiting news, Tesoro junior all-league wide receiver Jake Smeltzer (6-3, 196) has been offered by Harvard and Yale, Titans coach Matt Poston said in an e-mail. Smeltzer had 43 receptions for more than 700 yards last season.
