Alex Nathan scored seven goals and James Rydjeski made 11 saves as Edison’s boys water polo team defeated Segerstrom, 12-7, to defend its title at the Newport Rib tournament at Costa Mesa on Saturday.
In the semifinals, Edison defeated JSerra, 10-1, behind four goals from Nathan and 11 saves from Rydjeski.
The Chargers have captured the tournament four of the past five seasons.
