Former Crean Lutheran standout swimmer Ella Eastin captured the 200-meter butterfly for her SOCAL club on the first day of the Speedo Junior National Championships in San Antonio on Thursday.
The Stanford-bound Eastin reached the wall first in 2 minutes, 10.12 seconds to claim the title by more than a second.
Her time ranks sixth among U.S. women this year. Eastin’s best events are the individual medleys, so this could be a sign of fast times to come.
