Stanford freshman Ella Eastin (Crean Lutheran) captured the 200-yard individual medley in a lifetime-best 1 minute, 52.77 seconds at the Pac-12 women’s swimming championships in Federal Way, Wash. on Thursday night.
Eastin edged Cal freshman Kathleen Baker by three one-hundredths of a second.
Eastin’s time ranks No. 1 in the nation this collegiate season and ranks her seventh all-time in the event history.
Last season, Eastin, a former O.C. Register swimmer of the year, set the national private high school record in the 200 IM with a 1:53.90 at the CIF-SS Division 2 finals.
