Yes, the above question — Should Mission Viejo be in the Orange County Top 10? — was one of the questions I asked myself this week in voting in the Orange County and SoCal Varsity Top 20 polls. I answered ‘yes’ in the county poll but the Diablos weren’t high enough in my O.C. rankings to get a SoCal vote this week.
Mission Viejo (0-2) deserves to be in the county Top 10 based on facing two difficult non-county foes to open the season and playing some solid defense. But the Diablos likely need to win Friday against visiting La Habra to stay in the county Top 10. El Toro has already beaten La Habra by 16 points and the Chargers are 10th in the county this week, one spot behind No. 9 Mission Viejo.
