University boys swim coach Tom Norton, who guided the Trojans to their first CIF Division 1 crown Saturday, has resigned for personal reasons, he said.
The 2012 O.C. coach of the year said his squad knew during the season that he would be resigning.
Norton also has resigned as University’s girls water polo coach.
He also led University’s boys swim team this past season to their first Millikan Southern Section relays crown and the Pacific Coast League title.
Norton will remain the boys water polo coach and swim coach at Sage Hill.
