Matthew Orgill of Crean Lutheran is a CIF-Southern Section Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Orgill was Crean’s leading scorer in soccer and in track and field is the school’s record holder in the 100, 200, 400 and long jump.
He will attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Orgill’s GPA is 4.0.
The CIF State office Tuesday named its state scholar-athletes of the year and the scholar-athlete honorees from the CIF’s 10 sections. Orange County schools are in the CIF-Southern Section, by far the largest section in the state.
