Esperanza boys volleyball Isaac Owens confirmed Wednesday that he has resigned as boys coach.

Owens has coached the boys team for 13 years, leading the program to four CIF titles (2002, 2007, 2013 and 2014).

The Aztecs were selected the national team of the year by Volleyball Magazine in 2007. They were also state team of the year.

His overall record is 281-115. His teams have gone undefeated in the Century League for previous four seasons (48-0).

Owens will continue to coach the girls.

Assistant coach Mark Lovein, who played on the 2002 championship team, will take over as boys coach.
