Tuesday produced plenty of quarterback transfer news.

For those trying to keep track of the top players and some of the offseason moves, it’s important stuff.

The late-breaking news was that Newport Harbor senior-to-be quarterback Michael Bonds has transferred to St. Francis of La Canada, where he will play for his uncle, Jim Bonds, he confirmed. Michael has an offer from Cincinnati and was set to be one of the top returning QBs in the county.

Then there was JSerra sophomore-to-be quarterback Ryan Hilinski. He has enrolled at Orange Lutheran, Lancers coach Chuck Petersen confirmed.

He is from a well-known family of QB’s. Hilinski’s brother, Tyler, is a quarterback at Washington State while his brother, Kelly, is a quarterback at Weber State.

The early news Tuesday centered on Mater Dei senior-to-be QB Matt McDonald. He began classes at Mission Viejo on Tuesday.

The offseason is still young, so the updates will continue. It’s time for someone to start a list. Soon.
