Brea Olinda senior Reili Richardson was recently named one of seven finalists for the coveted title of Ms. Basketball in California, Cal-Hi Sports’ annual State Player of the Year award.

The Arizona State-bound guard averaged better than 21 points and six assists per game for the Ladycats this season. Brea turned in a 29-4 record, capping its year off with a 64-51 win over St. Francis of Sacramento in the CIF State Division 1 championship game. Richardson scored a game-high 26 points in the final and grabbed nine rebounds in leading the Ladycats to an unprecedented 10th state title.

In her last four high school outings, the gifted 5-foot-10 combo guard notched point totals of 32, 21, 27 and 26 points, earning 55 trips to the free throw line in that span.
