Servite’s football team is 0-3 against Bishop Gorman of Nevada heading into the teams’ clash Friday night, but the Friars want to keep playing the Gaels in future seasons.

Servite football coach AJ Gass said Monday that his program is interested in renewing its game contract with Bishop Gorman, ranked No. 1 in the nation this week by USA Today.

Bishop Gorman has defeated Servite the past three seasons by a combined, 114-45.

Gass said he likes playing the Gaels because they are well-coached and provide a measuring stick for the Friars.

The game is scheduled for Friday at Cerritos College at 7:30 p.m. and will air on Prime Ticket.

“It’s going to be tough,” Gass said of the game. “We know what we’re getting into.”

In other Fox Sports Prep Zone coverage Friday, Rancho Cucamonga at Trabuco Hills and Bishop Amat vs. Santa Margarita at Saddleback College will stream on foxsportswest.com’s prep zone.
