HUNTINGTON BEACH - The banners commemorating Huntington Beach's 1993 and 1994 CIF-SS championship-winning boys volleyball teams will soon be joined by one for the 2013 team.
The Oilers won their first CIF-SS title since 1994 when they rallied to defeat Loyola of Los Angeles in five sets in last week's final.

The last match that the Huntington Beach boys volleyball failed to win was against San Clemente in March.
The teams' paths crossed again Thursday night, and this time in the Division 1 CIF Southern California Regional semifinal, the Oilers earned some revenge.

ANAHEIM – When the Esperanza boys volleyball team defeated Santa Barbara this past Saturday, the Aztecs accomplished their primary goal this season of winning the CIF-SS Division 2 championship.

The Warriors dropped the first two sets of their CIF Southern California Division 3 Regional, but they never met the end of their season.
