University boys water polo coach Andy Coffman, who guided the Trojans the past five seasons, has resigned, he confirmed Tuesday.
Coffman said he is moving to San Diego with his girlfriend.

Tesoro senior wide receiver Jake Smeltzer (6-3, 187) will play in the NUC Sports All-American Bowl on Dec. 30 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, his father, Bryan, reports.
The National Underclassmen Combine event will be played at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.

Former Edison and Ca swimmer Tom Shields broke his American short-courd record by capturing the 200-meter butterfly in 1:50.08 at a FINA World Cup meet in Doha, Qatar.
Shields also moved closer to the world record of 1:48.56 set by Chad Le Clos of South Africa in 2013.

Tom Beard is returning to San Clemente as the school's girls volleyball coach. Beard replaces Rob O'Rear who resigned after last season.
Beard is a San Clemente alum, former All-American at Pepperdine and a former member of the U.S. National team. He is also the director of the San Clemente Volleyball Club.
Foothill has a pair of new volleyball coaches.
Mark Roberts is the new girls coach and Kelly Caldwell is the new boys coach.
Roberts was previously an assistant at Beckman. Caldwell previously coach at Mission Viejo.
Twin brothers Cody and Dustin Serrano are the new co-coaches of the Costa Mesa boys and girls water polo teams, Mustangs athletic director Sharon Uhl reports.
The pair replace Justin Taylor on the boys side and Tim Postiff on the girls, both of whom resigned.
