  • Boys track: Rocky Fenton, San Clemente BY ANTONIO MORALES
    Rocky Fenton San Clemente High School Fenton won a CIF State championship in the discus with a throw of 184 feet, 10 inches. In the process, Fenton became the first athlete at San Clemente to ever win a state championship in track and field. The throw was also Fenton's best in the discus this season.

    Bethan Knights Northwood Knights took home a state title in the girls 3,200. She ran a 10:00.19, to finish off an outstanding senior season, in which she set the new county record in the event (9:54.89). Knights was the only female athlete from the county to win a state championship.
