San Clemente senior boys basketball player Nick Crankshaw committed to Westmont, San Clemente announced today.
Crankshaw, a 6-foot-4 guard/forward, was Sea View League co-MVP with teammate Sam Darnold and was All-Orange County fifth team.
Orange County’s high school athletes who signed a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday. The list includes athletes who signed a mutual agreement of commitment with an Ivy League school or service academy.

The email from Sonora stated, “We are having a little signing for our athletes … ”
It turned out to be a big party.
“We had our band there, our cheerleaders and ‘The Jungle,’ ” said Sonora basketball player Christian Rhodes. “It was great.”

Mater Dei senior Malik McMorris has committed as a preferred walk-on to Cal, the senior said Friday night. He also will throw for the track team.
He said Cal recruited him mostly as a defensive lineman.
