Things were slow at the beginning.
Redmond had some success, going 7-0 at the Long Beach Millikan Duals, and he followed that with a title at the Irvine Invitational.
The Register has made is selections for the 2013 All-County wrestling teams, player of the year and coach of the year.
The Register's All-County teams were selected using a combination of coaches' input and reporter observations.

The Yorba Linda wrestling program had a modest beginning with only a handful or wrestlers on the team that first season in 2009-10.

Kumashiro finished first at 195 pounds at the weekend’s CIF-SS Masters Meet to qualify for his second consecutive CIF State Tournament. Kumashiro defeated Nick Johnson of Murrieta Valley 2-1 in the finals.
TEMECULA – Mason Kumashiro became the first Los Alamitos wrestler to win a Southern Section title.
