The CIF-Southern Section has approved the addition of an Open Division for the boys and girls basketball playoffs starting with the 2013-14 season.
There will be as many as 16 teams in the Open Division. Teams ranked in the top 10 for their division at the end of the season will be eligible for selection by a committee.
Jayce Johnson, a 7-foot boys basketball player, has transferred to JSerra from Mater Dei, JSerra athletic director Jim Hartigan confirmed today.
