Football: Buena Park's White to coach 605 all-star game

    Buena Park football coach Anthony White, who guided the Coyotes to the CIF-SS Southwest Division semifinals, has been selected as one of the coaches for the 605 all-star game on June 6, he said.

    The game will be played at Cerritos College at 7 p.m. and will pit Orange County vs. Los Angeles County, White said.

    The CIF-Southern Section has finalized the girls basketball championship schedule for this Friday and Saturday for all games being played at Azusa Pacific University and Godinez High.

    Listed below are the start times and locations for games including county schools.

    Football: Rusinkovich resigns at Dana Hills

    Todd Rusinkovich has resigned as head coach at Dana Hills, Rusinkovich confirmed tonight.

    He said by text message that he has accepted an assistant coaching position at Saddleback College.

    Rusinkovich coached the Dolphins for four seasons. They were 1-9 overall and 0-4 in the South Coast League in 2014. Rusinkovich's record at Dana Hills is 13-28.

    He had coached at Saddleback College for one season before taking the Dana Hills job in 2011. Rusinkovich remains on staff at Dana HIlls as a math ...

    Boys basketball: Berokoff resigns at El Modena

    Jeff Berokoff resigned as boys varsity basketball coach at El Modena, athletic director Ed Drzanek announced today.

    Berokoff coached the Vanguards for six seasons. This season, El Modena finished 8-20 overall and 1-5 in the North Hills League. The Vanguards lost to Savanna in the first round of the CIF-Southern Section 2A playoffs.

    Drzanek said the school is accepting applications its next boys basketball coach.

    Berokoff was an All-CIF player at Sonora in the 1990s.

    Football: New coach at Orange

    Orange announced over the weekend that Robert Pedroza has replaced Randy Thompson as varsity football head coach.

    Athletic Director Charlie Fisher reported via email that Thompson resigned.

    Pedroza has been an assistant coach for many years, most recently as defensive coordinator at Troy the past three seasons. He also has coached at at Cerritos College. Pedroza is an alumnus of Canyon High.

    Orange was 0-10 in 2014.

    Servite reclaims its spot at the top of Servite Invitational

    CHINO HILLS - The trophy from last year's Servite Invitational had a special place in the middle of the Servite boys golf team room, and any time the Friars tried to move it, Coach Dan Jako would put it right back in its place.
