CdM's Adbulghany makes it to semifinals at Polo

    Corona del Mar sophomore Alyaa Abdulghany lost in 19 holes to Lauren Stephenson, Lexington, S.C. in the semifinals of the AJGA Polo Golf Junior Classic at PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. 

    Stephenson, who recently signed with Clemson, trailed for the majority of the match, only winning six of the 19 holes.

    Boys water polo: Palazzo won't apply for permanent job at Newport (updated)

    Newport Harbor interim boys water polo coach Marco Palazzo, who took over for Robert Lynn just before the start of the season and guided the Sailors to the CIF Division 1 quarterfinals, will not apply for the school's vacant permanent position, he confirmed Wednesday.

    Boys water polo: Segerstrom falls in Division 6 final

    Malibu's boys water polo team claimed its first CIF title by defeating Segerstrom, 10-7, in the Division 6 final in Irvine on Saturday.

    Brethren Christian's Demazeliere breaks O.C. record

    Brethren Christian receiver Guy Demazeliere caught a touchdown pass in the Warriors' playoff loss Friday night, giving him 40 for his career and sole possession of the county record.

    He moved ahead of Jeremy Childs, who had 39 for Los Alamitos (2002-04).

    Demazeliere's TD came in the fourth quarter of the Warriors' loss to Grace Brethren, 49-21, in the second round of the East Valley Division playoffs.

    Orange Lutheran's Lucier-South chooses UCLA

    Orange Lutheran defensive lineman Keisean Lucier-South announced Saturday that he has committed to UCLA.

    The 6-5, 220-pound senior is a four-star rated recruit by ESPN and several other publications. He was on the Register's first-team All-County team in 2013 and listed as one of the top five players in the county by OCVarsity's Dan Albano going into this season.
