    SoCal Prep Legends has nominated the epic CIF-SS football championship game between La Habra and San Clemente for its Game of the Year award. The winners will be announced next month during an awards show that will be shown on KABC/7 on June 10.

Throughout the school year, SoCal Prep Legends has been recognizing the best high school student-athletes in Southern California. Over the next few weeks, SoCal Prep Legends will announce the finalists in 11 award categories, including the Southern California Boy and Girl Athlete of the Year.

The finalists have been selected by the reporters for the Southern California News Group, which has 11 news outlets, including the Orange County Register, throughout Southern California.

The five nominees for Game of the Year, which were announced Saturday on KABC/7, included the La Habra vs. San Clemente CIF-SS championship football game on Dec. 4, which the Highlanders won, 39-36, with a Haily Mary TD pass on the last play of the game.

The winners will be announced at the SoCal Prep Legends Awards show in June, which will be shown on KABC/7 on June 10 after the NBA Finals game that night.

Leading up to the SCPL awards show, the nominees for the following categories will be announced weekly:

• Boys Athlete of the Year

• Girls Athlete of the Year

• Scholar Athlete of the Year (Boy/Girl)

• Coach of the Year

• Most Outstanding Individual Performance

• Best Student Section/School Spirit (Fan Vote)
